How to study effectively so that the civil services exam can be cleared

🔵TIME MANAGEMENT.
Time management is the most crucial part of life not only in the exam if you know to manage your time you can achieve anything in your life.
As per the exam point of view than reading for 6-7 hours a day is more than enough to crack any exam. in the beginning, you cannot study for 6-7 hours as it is very hard to concentrate during the first time what you can do is set a target for day example:- if you want to complete three chapters a day like “our pasts” from history and “The earth and the solar system “ from the geography you have to complete the task on that particular day only.
🔵KNOW ABOUT THE EXAM PATTERN.
The UPSC civil services exam pattern deals with three stages:-
🔸Preliminary exam.
The preliminary exam is a qualifying exam and based on MCQ multiple choice questions as this exam are the first stage and every aspirant has to clear this stage to appear in the mains exam the marks of this exam are not added in the overall result.
The preliminary examination consist of two papers.
⬢Paper-1
General studies
This paper is mainly focused on general studies and contains question from (History, Geography, Polity, Economy , General knowledge and current affairs).
⬢Paper-2
Aptitude.
This exam is only a qualifying exam you can pass this exam with 33% of marks and question mostly come about mental ability, decision making, math’s, logical reasoning, etc..
🔸Mains exam.
The mains exam is a theoretical exam in which aspirants have to write 7 papers based on that their selection is done. Let's see the following exam in detail.

🔸Personal interview.
The last step to get through this the exam is the personal interview it is of 275 marks and this interview is taken by senior civil services officers the P.I mainly focus on the personality of the aspirants and the question will be asked about
🔵GET THE SYLLABUS.
So this is the most important part of the preparation of the CSE exam as many aspirant what they do is they use Smartphone or laptop during their study hours to see the exam syllabus and doing they somehow get distracted and this is the the main reason why your syllabus is not getting completed.

🔵HOW TO STUDY FOR PRELIMS
The prelims exams are the first exam and It only deals with the MCQ types question so if you want to start studying for prelims exams please keep in the mind that the overall syllabus is the same so if you start studying in the mains point view then only you van clear the prelims.
Also, the prelims exam have 2 papers the first one is about general studies and second one qualifying if you want to clear the prelims you need to be more focus on general studies because of the the cutoff is decided by this exam only the second paper for qualifying only with minimum of 33% marks.
🔵HOW TO STUDY FOR MAINS.
The whole civil services exam is based on this the mains exam and many people don’t know about this how they can study in a way to complete the syllabus.
🔸Make a time table.
I know it is very hard to be on schedule and follow the time table but if you want to secure a high rank you have to do this make a short time table of about 5 days or 7 days and try to achieve the goal if you successfully get it then increase the time table duration and in that way, you can reach the goal.
🔸Start making notes.
Making notes is the most vital part of this exam, if you are simply reading things without making notes about the topic you are going to end up gaining nothing so whenever you read any topic write down the main points about it.
🔸Read Daily newspapers.
If you not doing this then start reading the newspaper from today onwards because the important questions come from the dynamic part(Current events) Whether it is the paper of essay, polity, history, environment about 50% question will come from the current affairs and reading the newspapers will solve this problem.
There are many newspapers but the best of them is The Hindu, THE INDIAN EXPRESS and etc also you can buy monthly magazines from VISION IAS, and CHRISTI IAS.
🔵JOIN A COACHING INSTITUTE IF YOU CAN
Not everyone can join a coaching institute for civil services because some of them have time and money problem but if you feel that joining the coaching classes helps you in improving your studies then you should.
🔵DO SELF STUDY.
Maybe joining coaching can give you the best environment but do not depend totally on that whether you join coaching or not but without self-study you cannot win this game. Doing self-study about 5-6 hours a day is sufficient to prepare for the civil services exam.

Debating with others helps in gaining confidence, personality development and others get to know about your opinions in a particular thing. You can practice this with your friends on any topic related to national and international or any small topic you like.
